Overwhelmed BY A Relentless God
Author: Francis Chan

With over a million copies sold, Francis Chan has captivated the Christian reader by his passionate pursuit of an overwhelmed and relentless God. His use of chapter titles as, “stop praying” and “serving leftovers to a Holy God” has validity in its approach and context. Though an easy read, if you are a frequent reader, you will probably finish this book in a few hours but do not let the message pass you by.

His main text is taken from Matt 22:37-40.
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

There are some interaction with the book that connects to his website, www.crazylovebook.com that will heighten the experience of the chapter. Chapter four entitled, “profile of the lukewarm,” goes through 18 different lukewarm stages that is pivotal to today’s believer as a mirror image to compare.

Chapter nine deals with the testimonial side of whats it to be in love with God. Some of the lives that have lived for the cause of Christ will echo in your heart and challenge you in your faith.

This book has a great message and is written from the heart of a man who has not only demonstrated this in his own life but desires to see it implemented in the lives of the reader. His personal approach and heartfelt plead, reverberates to the soul. I leave this review with the words of the author himself when he states, ” But we need to realize that how we spend our time, what our money goes toward, and where we will invest our energy is equivalent to choosing God or rejecting Him.” Are you crazy in love with your God?
